Things I’m Loving Friday

Hey party people! Who is excited that it is Friday?! This has been my first full week back to work in a while due to taking some vacation time and holidays, and while it was a long one, I’m definitely happy about being back in a routine. During the summer, I tend to follow less of a schedule and end up just going with the flow of life more often, but hey! It has been fun to change it up.

This weekend I’m looking forward to keeping it close to home, going out with some friends, and hopefully creating some delicious recipes to share with you all! Be sure to follow along on my Instagram account!

Anyway, in typical Friday fashion, I’m sharing some of my favorite things that I’m loving this week – please share your favorites in the comments below!

  • Healthy Peanut Butter Cups

Oh baby, do I have a treat for you guys. I’ve had a bag of powdered peanut butter from Crazy Richards that I’ve been wanting to include in some of my baking recently but didn’t really know what to use it for. Then it struck me that in order to get the most perfect consistency for the peanut butter portion of Reese’s cups, it isn’t just straight peanut butter. It is made from a mixture of other ingredients that help to make it thicker and tastier.

I knew this would be the perfect place to incorporate my peanut butter powder to act as the thickener. Into a bowl went about 1/3 cup creamy, natural peanut butter, and about 1/3 cup peanut butter powder. You want the consistency to be thick exactly like cookie dough. Add water/more peanut butter powder to get desired consistency. Form in nickel size discs and place in the refrigerator for ten minutes. Melt one bar of dark chocolate – I used Lily’s Original Dark Chocolate. Place one tablespoon of melted dark chocolate into molds (I have this one), place peanut butter discs in the center of the molds, and then add one more tablespoon of dark chocolate on top. Wa-la! Place in freezer overnight, I keep mine stored in there as well.

  • New City Running Routes

You guysssss, look at this view!^ It seriously makes waking up for my 5:45am run that much easier. I have absolutely loved being able to run around Philadelphia and explore all of the little side streets. I typically try to run the Ben Franklin Bridge once a week because it really provides the best sunrise and views. I’m not sure if I’m ever going to be okay with it getting dark in the morning again. Anyone in Philly and want to run sometime? Let me know!

  •  Blogger Summer Camp

Since I’m really trying to up my blogging game recently, I decided it was time that I invest in it a little bit. I signed up for Nicole Culver’s Blogger Summer Camp and it has already been such a big help. Nicole has some of the best tips and ideas for when it comes to really building your blog, your following and how to monetize it. Although the latter may not be in my cards anytime soon, I’m still excited to learn all of the information!

I also really love the Facebook group that goes along with the camp. It is a private Facebook group for all of the bloggers who are a part of it and its an awesome interactive platform for the group. The bloggers on there all want to build each other up and it is a place for us to share our progress, our problems, and ultimately learn from each other.

  • La Croix Water  

 

This isn’t anything new, but if you haven’t been drinking these La Croix sparkling water then what are you waiting for?! I love anything with bubbles (cough cough champagne) but when it isn’t an appropriate time to have champagne, I’ve been downing any form of sparkling water. The La Croix is my favorite because they come in so many different delicious flavors! This one is passionfruit and it is so tasty. Plus they don’t have any sweeteners in them – added bonus.
