Things I’m Loving Friday #9

Things I’m Loving Friday

Hi there, friends! How are you on this fine Friday? I am thrilled it is the weekend and even more thrilled that the weather here in Philly is supposed to be beautiful this weekend. When its nice out in the city, all the people come out to play and I love it. I’ll be spending my weekend in my new house (!!) for the first full weekend. We’re all good to go with electricity, cable, wifi – you name it, we got it!

This week included a trip to New York City for work, lots of recipe development and baking, and happy hours in the city. Philadelphia has this thing called “Sips” that takes place every Wednesday in the city and is basically a citywide happy hour that many outdoor (and indoor too, but when its beautiful who wants to be outside?!) restaurants and bars host. All drinks are really cheap and its such a fun place to meet friends after a day of work. Everyone shows up in their work clothes and spends the next couple of hours socializing – it is really fun!

Anyway, in typical Friday fashion, I’m sharing some of my favorite things that I’m loving this week – please share your favorites in the comments below!

Last Saturday, my boyfriend and I went to PS & Co. in Philly for brunch. I couldn’t exactly tell him what kind of place it was before we went because he would automatically shut it down, so I just said I wanted to go somewhere to get a baked good and coffee. According to their website, PS & Co. is an all-day vegan cafe & bakery with gluten-free & organic dishes & sweets, a rustic feel & outdoor space. I’ve been here multiple times and actually will be back for dinner on Friday night! They recently got a new vegan dinner menu that looks so good.

Tom and I split the gluten free banana strawberry bread (omg, heavenly), a green smoothie, and I got an iced cold brew with homemade almond milk. Everything hit the spot and I already can’t wait to return and try more of their delicious goodies. Oh and Tom loved it too! Double win.

  • Farmers Markets

It is FINALLY that time of year for farmers markets and I couldn’t be more excited. There are so many different ones here in Philly, but there is one that is very close to my apartment and I am very happy to report that they have some of the most amazing foods. They may cost a little bit more money than regular grocery stores and I still do love going to Whole Foods (I’ll never give you up, WF) but something about getting local food just makes it taste better. Would you agree?

  •   Animal Spottings

The past month or so I have been enjoying my runs outside while at my parents house. The typical four mile route that I normally use takes me back through farms and country land, even though we live in the suburbs. I absolutely love the stillness of the morning and because we pass through farms and wooded areas, I’ve been lucky enough to spot different creatures while I’m out there.

If you follow my Instagram, I’ve started a fun hashtag #seenonmyrun and it has focused on the different animals I’ve seen while out there. I’ve spotlighted the llamas, ducks, and most recently deer. It makes my morning seeing them and I’m glad I am alone because I normally pull out my baby voice when talking to them.

I shared this baby on my stories a few weeks ago, but for those who don’t follow my Instagram, my boss let me borrow her Revlon Volumizer and let me tell you. My life has been changed. This amazing hair tool takes your hair from soaking wet (mine was literally dripping) to not only dry but PIN straight. It is like a blow dryer and hair straightener all in one. I absolutely love it and have recommended it to so many people now. And for $50 you can’t go wrong. It used to take me an hour + some to blow dry and straighten my hair, but now it is all done in one! Boom!

Tell me below!

What is something that you are loving this week? Any product, food, exercise, song, TV show, anything?
