With the requests from many of my Instagram followers, I’m finally sharing a Day in the Life post, where I share a typical day in my shoes!
Hi friends!! I’m finally getting around to sharing a day in the life post and I’m so excited because I don’t know if it is just me, but I absolutely love getting a sneak peak into everyone’s behind the scenes.
Those were always my most favorite blog posts when I would read blogs religiously – I remember always loving Wednesday because I always wanted to see what everyone was eating and doing.
Call me nosy, I know.
I decided it would be super fun for me to start this little series, and if you guys like it, I will keep posting them!
I documented my day last Friday, which was a typical day for me without any major appointments or trips. The whole week was actually kind of a catch up week for me between being on vacation two weeks ago, and then being in New York last week.
6:35 I wake up naturally because apparently my body is ready to go at this time. I guess it doesn’t help that I am typically in bed by 10:00 p.m. because #grandma life. I roll out of bed and head out the door for a run.
I’m the kind of girl who won’t work out at all if she doesn’t do it in the morning, so I like to go first thing.
7:15 My run was a quick 4 miler and since I’m at my parents house right now, it is back through farm country. They live in a development but it doesn’t take too long for us to hit farmland.
I head back home, walk my Golden Retriever Ellie around the neighborhood, and then head up to take a shower.
8:30 I start preparing my breakfast and I knew I wanted to make a little demo on Instagram stories of how I caramelize bananas, so I make sure to document it on ‘stories’ – I actually saved them on my highlights on Instagram if you want to go watch!
Prepare peanut butter toast with caramelized banana, take a picture for the gram, and then devour!
9:15 I realize I didn’t have coffee yet so I immediately head to the Keurig, make my coffee, add a scoop of Vital Proteins (best ever, I have a whole post here on why I take it), and sit down to get some work done.
I take my laptop outside for a little because its gorgeous out.
9:30 Work, work, work, work.
I work away answering emails, getting orders placed for P.S. Snacks, and then get some recipe development ready for P.S. Snacks as well. I help out on their team by being their Community Manager and Recipe Developer.
Before I can recipe develop, I am reminded by my growling stomach that it’s lunch time.
12:35 Lunctime so I make myself a big salad with spinach, veggies, avocado, pine nuts, jalapeno dairy-free cheese, and a turmeric poached egg. I dress it with balsamic vinegar because that’s all I really wanted since I had the cheese and avocado to help make it creamy.
1:00 I clean up my lunch and get to work in the kitchen.
The best part about getting to work for myself (and P.S. Snacks) is being able to recipe develop. For as long as I can remember, I have absolutely loved being in the kitchen and not having to follow any specific recipes.
Some of my best creations come from when I just get creative and do whatever I feel like.
Today I made cookie dough pretzel bites, chocolate drizzled energy balls, and oatmeal cookies. All three were a success, and I may or may not have strategically planned the dessert tasting right after lunch 😉
2:30 I take Ellie on another walk because I already know she is getting antsy. She started to individually bring me her toys as I sat on the couch working, so I guess that was my sign.
When we get back I work on planning our trip to San Francisco and want to smack myself for not realizing that we bought our airfare for literally the most expensive weekends in SF. Every single hotel or AirBnB is either sold out, or a million dollars. (P.S. – you can use that link for AirBnB for $40 travel credit! Not sponsored, just sharing!!) Looks like we will be booking a room in a house, hope the people are friendly 🙂
4:00 I spend the rest of my afternoon filming a short little video for an exciting collaboration I have coming up. Is it just me or is everyone super awkward on live video? Or maybe I’m just super critical of myself but wow, I had to re-shoot it like 20 times!
I’ll be sharing more about the collaboration soon!
5:00 p.m. I dive into a piece of freezer fudge as a reward for being done. Go me!
It’s after 5 o’Clock on a Friday, so before I snuggle in for my relaxing night alone (my parents and boyfriend are both out of town!) I run to CVS to get a few things I need (floss – lol, and some shampoo)
Back home and it’s rose time. I’m trying these new cider rose and they are actually pretty good! Kind of like beer but way more girly. Not too sweet, and not too much like beer, however my mom tried it last weekend (who doesn’t like beer but likes rose) didn’t like it because she thought it was too “hoppy”.
7:00 I make myself the Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi (OMG SO GOOOOOD) with sauteed veggies and dairy free lemon basil cream sauce and eat dinner outside.
8:00 I pour myself a second glass of rose, head to the couch, and catch up on all the reality TV shows. I seriously watch every single show on Bravo, I think. Southern Charm, The Real Housewives, Below Deck… you name it, I watch it.
8:30 I grab a cup of fudge brownie cookie dough, some pretzels, and a little piece of chocolate and call it a night at around 11:00.
That was my exciting Friday! 😉
Hope you all loved getting to know a little more about me and what I do in a day – please let me know if you liked this a day in the life post style and you want to see more!
Question: What was your favorite part of your day yesterday?!
