Healthy Peanut Butter Pie (Dairy Free) is a perfect dessert that the entire family will love. It’s made using healthy ingredients and is ready in just a few simple steps! This recipe is the best peanut butter pie recipe!
A delicious peanut butter pie recipe
I’m a huge lover of peanut butter. Always have been, always will be. I love peanut butter cookies, peanut butter oats, peanut butter ice cream, and especially peanut butter pies!
This pie, however, is a bit different than “normal” peanut butter pie recipes, because it’s healthier! I was able to create a pie that’s tasty and better for us by carefully selecting the ingredients and making a couple of swaps.
For anyone that enjoys a dairy free diet, this pie is perfect! It includes zero dairy products. And, to make matters even more exciting, this dish only requires about 30 minutes of prep time. I can’t wait for you to try it!
Ingredients for this healthy pie recipe
There are three sets of ingredients for this pie: the crust, the filling, and the topping. Rather than using a store-bought crust for this pie, I wanted to make mine from scratch! This is usually a healthier option.
Crust Ingredients:
- Almond flour
- Cocoa powder
- Coconut oil
- Maple syrup
- Vanilla
- Salt
Filling Ingredients:
- Peanut butter
- Cream cheese (dairy-free)
- Maple syrup
- Coconut whip
Topping Ingredients:
- Coconut whip
- Chocolate
- Peanut butter
- Peanut butter cups
Kitchen tools used to create this pie
Here’s the lowdown on the kitchen tools you’ll need to make this tasty pie recipe.
- 9 inch pie dish
- Non-stick spray
- 2 mixing bowls
- Hand mixer
A healthier pie option
There are a number of ingredients used in this pie that make it healthier than standard pies.
To start, I used almond flour in place of all-purpose flour. It’s filled with nutrients including protein, fiber, vitamin E, and manganese. Almond flour is also a great option for those on a gluten-free diet!
Next, I used coconut oil instead of traditionally used baking fats like butter or canola/vegetable oil. Coconut oil is known to be great for blood sugar, cholesterol, digestion, and more.
How to make this healthy peanut butter pie recipe
Pies can be intimidating in theory, but this one doesn’t have to be! It’s actually very easy to make this healthy pie recipe.
To begin making this pie, preheat your oven to 350F and grease your pie dish with non-stick spray.
In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour and cocoa powder and mix. Then, stir in the melted coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt, and stir until well combined.
Press this mixture into the bottom of the pie dish and up the sides. Bake for 20 minutes.
When the crust comes out of the oven, allow it to cool while preparing the filling.
In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter and cream cheese and blend using a hand mixer. Add the maple syrup and beat until smooth. Next, add the thawed cocowhip and blend until well combined.
Pour this mixture over the cooled crust and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Overnight is preferred for ultimate firmness.
Once completely firmed, top with extra toppings.
Store in the fridge.
Variation options for peanut butter pie
If you’re like me, you probably love customizing recipes and making them your own! Here are some easy substitutions and variations that you may be interested in.
- Peanut butter: Feel free to use the nut butter of your choice, whether it be almond, walnut, or something else! Use a 1:1 ratio.
- Coconut oil: Coconut oil can be substituted at a 1:1 ratio by any fat, including butter, vegetable oil, canola oil, etc.
- Maple syrup: There are a few options to use in place of maple syrup. Both honey (start with a bit less than what is called of the syrup and then add to taste) and molasses (use a 1:1 ratio) should work!

oh my god. this was insane. literally so easy to make and tasted like nothing healthy! i made this for my dad’s birthday bc he loved pb pie that my mom makes (loaded with a lot of inflammatory ingredients) and since my mom could t make it this year i stepped in. i was worried it would taste too “healthy” for his liking, but he loved it so much and said i could make then every year now that my mom is working a lengthy job! this was insanely good! thank you for this!
