I love reliving my bachelorette weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona! It was the most fun weekend with my best friends and was my first time in Scottsdale. My maid of honor, Chelsea and whole bridal party and friend group came together and planned the best weekend. It is so rare for me to not plan a trip detail by detail, but I really let this whole trip be a surprise and only really knew the dates, location and one activity I planned mentioned later. The rest was a pure surprise when I got to the house and as it happened. Here is a day by day recap and ideas if youโre planning a trip there either for a bachelorette, friends weekend, with your family or significant other or a solo trip!
Day One:
The day before my MOH, Chelsea and one bridesmaid Haley flew to AZ a day early, rented a car and did food shopping and decorating, so then when the rest of us flew in on Thursday, the house was so cute and ready to party. I LOVED the decorations from the โWelcome to Er-izonaโ sign to cactus shot glasses to the Tom and Coconut hand held sigs and personalized little make-up bags with all the essentials- it was perfect. We all flew in and arrived later in the afternoon, so day one was pretty chill. We made ourselves at home, unpacked and had dinner in the Air B&B, pre-gammed and then went to a couple bars in Old Town but didnโt stay out super late.
Day Two:
To start the day, we got up and ready and went to Jojo Coffeehouse and had my first ever coffee flight, breakfast tacos and a cinnamon bun. I got the best of both worlds- sweet and savory and wanted to eat enough so the day ahead. From there we went back to the Air B&B to relax by the pool and have lunch.
Then we had an afternoon Desert Monsters Tour. This was a ton of fun! Each ATV held 2 people each, and the tour guide lead us through the trails. It was super dusty so you definitely need a bandana for your face and the helmet they give you has built in googles. The views were amazing and seeing the huge cacti up close was really cool. After the tour, we went back to the house for some cocktails with 21Seeds Tequila. We used their Cucumber Jalapeรฑo, Grapefruit Hibiscus and Valencia Orange tequilas in homemade margaritas in our personalized cups and of course with my BRIDE straw. After drinks we did showers, got ready and took Ubers to dinner at Olive & Ivy, a Mediterranean restaurant that came HIGHLY recommend and was completely shocked when I got there and saw the custom menu! My girls worked with the team there and picked their best dishes. After we ordered, my second surprise was Tom bought our first round of drinks! So nice of him!! I got sea scallops for my entrรฉe and loved it and then ended the meal with an espresso martini because I knew Iโd need the caffeine for later. We went to Bottled Blonde and danced until we were sweaty and tired and Ubered back home.
Day Three:
To start the last full day, it was my turn to surprise everyone. I ordered IVs from Prana IV Therapy to the house for everyone. I knew weโd need them and were more than halfway through the weekend and needed a pick me up and extra hydration. We added vitamin B to some of them too. Highly recommend! Then we just had a simple breakfast at the house and the theme of the day was Pool Party. Since the house had a great pool, Chelsea thought it was smart to use it to the fullest potential and after two days of adventures, it would be nice to stay at the house and celebrate there and all be together. The theme was tie dye cowgirl (and guy), so the girls wore colorful bathing suits and Kenny Flowers tie dye sarongs, and Michael wore matching tie dye Kenny Flowers swim trunks and shirt. We loved these so much! They were such an easy way to get the group to have a fun (and stylish) cohesive look. They have tons of bathing suits for both women and men as well, so I definitely recommend checking them out. Then they topped it off with colorful cowgirl/boy hats.
It was the perfect pool day. We floated in the pool, laid out, played drinking games and had alcoholic ice pops from Costco. I never tried before but loved them and definitely will stock up on them in my freezer. In the afternoon, The Cabana Boys came by and entertained us. We kept it very PG because I didnโt want the typical bachelorette stuff, but I did take their shirts off, poured them a shot then we all shot gunned a drink together. They were fun to hang out with and had a great energy! Later in the evening, a bartender from The Bar Is Open AZ came to keep us hydrated (read buzzed). They brought the cutest chalk board with drink options from a spicy margarita to Arizona mule. My favorite was the Jalisco Express. For dinner, we had Barrio Queen cater build your own tacos and nachos and it was everything I needed and more to end the day! We had a chill night in the house after and just hung out and began to clean up and pack.
Day Four:
Sadly, this was the last day, and we had breakfast in the house and last-minute packing and cleaning then were off and caught flights home. So sad to go but had so many amazing memories with everyone!!
I had so much fun and hope this helps anyone looking to travel to Scottsdale or specifically if youโre planning a bachelorette or bachelor weekend! I also asked my MOH Chelsea for her tips since she was the lead planner behind the weekend, and she suggests the following:
- Plan ahead and book things early because things fill up quickly.
- Overcommunicate expectations to the group from deciding events and activities to what to pack and what needs to be paid for/split.
- Use Splitwise for all expenses because it is so much easier then spitting things via Venmo in the moment.
- Book the big activities ahead of time but donโt book up every single minute if the day so people have some free time to do what they want and explore.
My bachelorette weekend was truly the best. I am so happy I was able to go away with all my best friends. They did the BEST job planning the long weekend to down to every single detail. I wish I could do it all over again!!
