We were able to squeeze in one more beautiful island during our trip to Greece and we knew it had to be Milos. Located in the Aegean Sea, Milos is also part of the Cyclades islands like Santorini and Paros. It also brought us closer to Athens for our return trip home!
Just like our other destinations, Milos is home to stunning beaches, endless ocean views, and incredible food. You may recognize the name from the iconic Venus de Milo sculpture which was discovered on the island 200 years ago! We only got to spend one day and night in Milos, but we were able to see multiple beaches and indulge in some of our favorite meals of the trip.
Mandrakia
We stayed in the town of Mandrakia during our Milos trip. It’s the most adorable fishing town full of people who truly love where they live and who want you to love it as much as they do. We rented a car to get around, but you can also rent ATV’s!
Miloลก Gyros
When I said first stop right off the boat, I meant it! These gyros were full of tender meat, fresh veggies, and I loved the addition of fries inside.
Milos Plaka
Plaka is the gorgeous capital of Milos. With it’s winding streets and stunning views of the Gulf of Milos, I highly recommend taking the time to pass through.
O! Hamos
We knew we would only have one dinner in Milos so we had to make it count. O! Hamos is right on the sea and serves simple, comforting dishes made with meat and cheeses that come from their own farms.
Kleftiko Beach
One of the main reasons I wanted to get out to Milos was for the Oneiro boat tour! So many people recommended it to me and it was absolutely worth it. The semi-private tour is nine hours long through the most beautiful waters you’ve ever seen plus they serve you wine and food!
Tsigrado Beach
The picturesque cliffs and sparkling blue water are just the beginning of Tsigrado’s allure. We saw it as part of our boat tour, but you can climb the cliffs thanks to provided ladders to really enjoy the view.
Ella Athens & La Greche
After Milos, we had time for one last dinner in Athens before heading back to the States. We stopped by Ella Athens, which serves modern takes on traditional Greek dishes, and Le Greche, home to the best gelatiere in the city.
