Are you ready for the ultimate fall treat? You should try making these delicious apple cinnamon rolls! Made with homemade cinnamon roll dough and filled with a brown sugar apple pie filling, these sweet treats are sure to be a hit for breakfast or dessert.
key ingredients
– Almond Milk – Instant Yeast – Butter – White Sugar – Eggs – Bread Flour – Salt – Apples – Brown Sugar – Cinnamon
In a large bowl, warm milk until 110F by microwaving for 45 seconds, then sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for a minute. Whisk melted butter, sugar, and eggs into the milk mixture.
In a separate bowl, mix bread flour and salt, then slowly add it to the milk mixture and stir until mostly combined. Knead the dough by hand for 5 minutes on a floured surface until slightly sticky, then place it in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling by simmering butter, apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar in a saucepan for 10 minutes. Mix together remaining butter, sugar, and cinnamon for the inside of the dough.
Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle, spread the cinnamon/butter/sugar mixture, add the apple mixture, then roll tightly and cut into 9 rolls.
Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes.
Prepare frosting while baking and frost rolls when warm or cooled.
