Salted Caramel Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened (1.5 sticks)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8oz soft caramels
  • 1 tbsp milk/cream
  • flakey sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add softened butter and sugars. Beat using a hand mixer or stand mixer until creamy.
  2. Once creamy, beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet and mix until well combined, scraping down sides as needed.
  5. Let dough chill for 2 hours.
  6. Roll about 2 tbsp dough into balls and bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes or until just slightly golden around the edges. Let cool.
  7. While cookies are cooling, making caramel sauce by adding caramels and milk to microwave safe dish. Melt in 30 second increments, stirring in between until fully melted.
  8. Add caramel to each cooled cookie and sprinkle with sea salt.
