Slice onions very thinly. I cut mine in half and then slice thinly, like a half moon.
Add butter to a large sauce pan and turn on heat to medium-high. Once melted, add onions and saute onions until just softened, about 5 minutes.
Then add salt, thyme, and worcestershire. Let saute over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until beginning to caramelize.
Add in garlic and cook for 5 more minutes. Turn off heat and place onions in a bowl to cool.
In the same pan, add sausage. Break up and cook until no longer pink. Add sausage to bowl with onions to cool.
While sausage and onions are cooling, whisk together yogurt and cream cheese. Stir in onions and sausage mixture. Mix until well combined and season with salt and pepper to taste. Add chives on top.
Serve with chips, pita, or veggies.
