Don’t let busy mornings get in the way of enjoying a delicious and satisfying breakfast! This turkey breakfast burger is a great option for those on-the-go days. With its protein-packed ingredients and flavorful chipotle sauce, it’s sure to become a household favorite. Plus, with the added option to freeze these burgers, you can have a quick and easy breakfast option at your fingertips.

Forget breakfast sandwiches – make the most delicious breakfast burger!

So far, I’ve shared my favorite breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. But have you ever had a breakfast BURGER?

That’s right—a juicy burger for breakfast! Grilled turkey patties with melted cheese, creamy avocado, and a runny egg are nestled between two perfectly toasted brioche buns.

And let’s not forget the star of the show… homemade chipotle aioli! This spicy and tangy sauce adds the perfect kick to this breakfast burger.

My husband is obsessed! He asked me to make this for him at least three times this week alone. It’s that good.

Ingredients needed

Everything you need to make the best turkey breakfast burgers are pretty simple ingredients.

It’s the perfect recipe to make a few to enjoy every day this week!

Here’s everything you need:

  • Ground turkey patties: These lean protein sources provide a tasty and healthy alternative to traditional beef patties.
  • American cheese slices: Cheese slices add a creamy and rich texture to the burger, making it even more satisfying. If you don’t like American cheese, use your favorite type. Swiss or cheddar would be great options.
  • Brioche buns: The soft, buttery brioche bun is the perfect vessel for this breakfast burger. It adds just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the savory flavors. Use a gluten-free burger bun if needed.
  • Butter: Brushing melted butter on the buns gives them a golden brown crust when grilled, adding an extra layer of flavor.
  • Arugula and avocado: These fresh ingredients not only add some greens to your breakfast but also add a delicious creamy texture to the burger.
  • Eggs: Sunny side up, over easy, or over medium – choose your favorite way to cook eggs and add them to your burger for an extra protein boost. The delicious runny yolk acts as a sauce for the burger.

Add some heat with chipotle aioli:

To take this breakfast burger to the next level of flavor, I added my homemade chipotle aioli. This spicy mayo-based sauce is tangy and flavorful, perfect for smothering on top of the burger!

It’s made with simple ingredients such as mayonnaise, garlic, chipotle powder, sriracha, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Kitchen tools required

Here’s a bit more information about what I used to make these turkey and egg breakfast burgers:

  • Grill or stovetop griddle
  • Skillet with a lid
  • Basting brush
  • Spatula

To measure, you will need a 1/2 cup, 1/4 cup, 1/2 teaspoon, and 1/4 teaspoon.

How to make the ultimate breakfast burger

To whip up this turkey breakfast burger with chipotle aioli, start by making the aioli sauce. Just mix together some mayo, minced garlic, chipotle powder, sriracha, lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then set it aside.

Next, grill your turkey patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, adding cheese just before they’re done. Toast your brioche buns with a bit of melted butter until they’re golden.

Cook the eggs however you like on a greased skillet. You can make them:

  • Sunny side up
  • Over easy
  • Over medium
  • Over hard

Now it’s time to assemble the perfect breakfast burger!

Start by spreading some of the chipotle aioli on the bottom bun, then add a handful of arugula and some sliced avocado. Next, add your cheese-topped turkey patty, followed by the cooked egg. Spread more aioli on the top bun before adding it to the sandwich.

And there you have it – a satisfying and flavorful turkey breakfast burger that will keep you full and energized all morning long.

Recipe Tips

Below are some common breakfast burger questions. Don’t see the answer you’re looking for? Leave a comment at the bottom of this post! (I’ll answer it ASAP!)

How do I make a perfect sunny-side-up egg?

To make the perfect sunny-side-up egg, heat a greased skillet over medium-high heat. Crack an egg into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny, for about 2-3 minutes. You can cover the skillet with a lid to help cook the top of the egg.

How long should I grill turkey patties for?

Turkey patties should be grilled for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Can I substitute the brioche buns with a different type of bread?

Yes, you can use any bun or bread for this recipe. Brioche buns add a rich flavor and texture to the turkey burger, but feel free to choose your preferred one.

You could also try using English muffins or bagels for a different kind of breakfast sandwich!

Can I make the chipotle aioli ahead of time?

Yes, you can make the chipotle aioli ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to a week. Just make sure to mix it well before using it.

Storing leftovers

If you have any leftover turkey breakfast burgers, they can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the microwave or oven before enjoying them.

To freeze these burgers, I would only suggest freezing the turkey patties and not the entire assembled sandwich.

Wrap each patty individually in plastic wrap and store it in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw them in the fridge before reheating them in a skillet or on the grill, and then put your breakfast burger together.

Turkey Breakfast Burger With Chipotle Aioli

Prep: 10 Cook: 20 Total: 30 minutes
Yield 2 sandwiches 1x
Scale
Print Pin it Rate

Ingredients

Burger:

  • 2 turkey patties
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 brioche buns
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup arugula
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 2 eggs

Chipotle Aioli

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1/2 tsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • pinch pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare chipotle aioli by mixing all of the ingredients together. Set aside.
  2. Grill patties 5-6 minutes on each side or until internal temperature reaches 165F. Add slice of cheese on and let lid close to melt for additional minute.
  3. While patties are grilling, brush brioche bun with melted butter and grill for about a minute or until golden brown.
  4. On a greased side skillet, cook eggs sunny side up, over easy, or over medium. I like sunny side up so the yolk is still running. You can do this right on the grill on a skillet or on your stove-top.
  5. Assemble sandwich by adding a layer of chipotle aioli to the bottom bun, adding a handful of arugula and sliced avocado, then adding the cheese patty, and cooked egg. Add more chipotle aioli to top of bun and then add top bun to the sandwich.
  6. Enjoy!
