Want to try a new crowd-pleasing appetizer? Dip into my fig Boursin cheese dip. This easy recipe is made with creamy Boursin cheese, sweet fig jam, and salted pistachios for a tasty crunch. Top with hot honey and sea salt for an unreal flavor profile.

Fig Boursin cheese dip
So, at the last minute, you need to bring a dish to share. Do you panic? No, you whip up a quick and delicious Boursin dip with fig!
Boursin dip is my serving secret weapon; it’s easy to make and tastes super indulgent. Seriously, everyone will be scraping their plates clean.
This dip is made with rich and indulgent Boursin cheese, sweet fig jam, hot honey, toasted pistachios, and flaky sea salt. Its flavor combination is perfectly balanced (and perfectly addicting).
I love this recipe because it can look really elevated with fancy toppings, despite its humble base. Plus, it tastes darn good.

Ingredients needed
Here’s a little bit about everything that goes into this sweet and creamy fig dip:
- Boursin cheese rounds: The base of this dreamy dip is 2 rounds of Boursin cheese (5.3 oz each). The flavor of this cheese is rich, buttery, and herby. Depending on the flavor you choose, you’ll enjoy notes of garlic, herbs, black pepper, or lemon. For this recipe, I recommend the Fig and Balsamic flavor.
- Fig jam: Topping the Boursin base is ½ cup of fig jam. This adds a sweet, caramelized flavor to the dip. Imagine a combination of juicy stone fruit and rich honey – that’s fig jam.
- Salted pistachios: ¾ cup salty pistachios help to break up the sweet richness in this dish. They also give it a satisfying crunch once roasted. Toasted almonds, walnuts, and pecans would be yummy swaps for this dip.
- Hot honey: For extra sweetness and a touch of heat, I use 2 tbsp of hot honey drizzled over top. Sensitive to heat? Regular ole’ honey will do the trick. Want to keep things plant-based? Vegan hot honey is a real thing!
- Flakey sea salt: Finally, I sprinkle this dip with flaky sea salt to help enhance all of the flavors; it’s a small but mighty step.
Kitchen tools required
You’ll need just a few kitchen basics to create this fig Boursin Dip:
- Small saute pan
- Spatula
- Dip dish or plate
Beyond these, you’ll also need measuring cups, including ½ cup, ¼ cup, and 1 tbsp.

How to make fig Boursin dip
This Boursin cheese dip is super easy to make. Start by toasting ¾ cup salted, chopped pistachios in a small saute pan over medium-high heat. Toss them frequently to prevent burning. They should be toasted in 3-4 minutes, or until fragrant. Set them aside while we prep the dip!
Spread two Boursin cheese rounds into the bottom of a plate or small dip dish. Then, spread 3/4 cup of fig jam over the cheese base.
To top our fig dip, sprinkle on warm pistachios, drizzle with 2 tbsp hot honey, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt to taste. And with that, you’re ready to chow down!
Recipe tips
Below are some common fig Boursin dip questions. Don’t see the answer you’re looking for? Leave a comment at the bottom of this post!
How to serve fig Boursin dip
This fig dip is absolutely delicious with the crackers of your choice – I personally like it with a seeded multi-grain cracker for its splendid crunch-factor.
Of course, you can also enjoy this dip as a spread on toasted baguette slices, or even as a sandwich condiment with prosciutto and arugula.
For a gluten-free option, serve with rice crackers or veggie sticks.
Finally, for a truly impressive presentation, turn this fig dip into a platter centrepiece! Add your completed Boursin dip to the centre of a serving platter and surround it with tasty dippables and accompaniments. Some ideas include:
- Dried fruits (artichokes, figs)
- Bread and crackers (seeded crackers, mini toasts, breadsticks)
- Salty sides (olives, marinated artichokes, crispy chickpeas)
- Fresh fruit (apple slices, pear, grapes)
- Additional fig jam
- Fresh vegetable sticks

More fun Boursin flavor combinations
While I’m pretty obsessed with the flavor combinations in this fig Boursin dip, Boursin is an endlessly versatile cheese that you can dress up however you’d like.
Simply start with your Boursin base, and top with:
- Sundried tomatoes, chopped basil, olive oil
- Caramelized onion, thyme
- Apricot jam, chopped almonds
- Lemon zest, black pepper
Can I make this fig Boursin dip ahead of time?
Of course! Prep your dip by spreading the Boursin and topping with fig jam.
When you’re ready to serve, finish the dip with hot honey, toasted pistachios, and sea salt. This will keep everything tasting fresh while maintaining the crunch of the pistachios.
Can I substitute pistachios for a different nut?
Absolutely. Swap pistachios for toasted walnuts, almonds, or pecans, depending on preference or what you have on hand.

Is this fig Boursin dip vegetarian?
This dip is naturally vegetarian – no swaps required!
Vegans can even enjoy this dip when opting for dairy-free Boursin and swapping hot honey for a vegan alternative.
How spicy is this Boursin dip?
My fig dip is lightly spicy, with a subtle kick from the hot honey topping. If you’re very sensitive to heat, you can always swap this ingredient for traditional honey.
If you’re a big spice fan, however, feel free to up the ante by adding crushed red pepper flakes or a layer of chili crisp.
Storing leftovers
If you have any leftover fig Boursin dip, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should last for 3-4 days. I wouldn’t recommend freezing this recipe as it will affect the texture of the Boursin.
