Get Ready to Amp Up Your Parties with this Scrumptious Pepperoni Pizza Dip Recipe!

Whenever I think of a party, my brain always goes to pizza. It’s simple, delicious, and a crowd-pleaser. There are also so many different ways you can serve it – from BBQ chicken to veggie-loaded.

But instead of ordering a pizza for your next party, why not try something new and make a pizza DIP?

Think of this recipe as a deconstructed pepperoni pizza… in the form of a dip.

We all love a classic slice of pizza, but there’s something about dipping our favorite foods that makes it oh-so-satisfying. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love gooey, melty cheese?

So why not combine the two for an epic pizza party appetizer?

Trust me; this pizza dip will be a crowd-pleaser and is perfect for any gathering, from game nights to movie marathons. And did I mention it’s super easy to make?

Ingredients needed

Making a baked pizza dip is one of the easiest recipes you can make for your next party or gathering. With simple ingredients, this appetizer will have your guests begging for the recipe.

Here are the key ingredients that you will need to create this delicious pepperoni pizza dip:

  • Cream Cheese: For the base of the dip, I used a softened cream cheese block. Not only does it add a creamy texture, but it also adds a subtle tanginess to balance out the richness of the other ingredients.
  • Greek Yogurt: Another key component of this dip is Greek yogurt. It adds a bit of protein and creates a nice contrast to the cream cheese. You’ll need a 1/2 cup.
  • Spices: To give this dip a classic pizza flavor, you’ll need a blend of spices, such as dried oregano, garlic powder, basil, salt, and pepper. For a bit of a kick, consider also adding some red pepper flakes! you’ll need 1/2 teaspoon of each.
  • Parmesan Cheese: Adding parmesan cheese gives an extra layer of flavor to this already tasty dip. It also adds a nice golden crust once baked!
  • Mozzarella Cheese: For that classic pizza flavor, mozzarella cheese is a must in this recipe. It melts perfectly and adds the perfect gooeyness to the dip. You’ll need 1.5 cups.
  • Pizza Sauce: Use your favorite store-bought or homemade pizza sauce for this recipe. It’s what gives the dip its delicious pizza flavor!
  • Pepperoni: Of course, we can’t forget the star of any pizza dish – pepperoni! Slice them into small pieces and use as much or as little as you’d like. For a healthier version, consider using turkey pepperoni.
  • Sliced Baguette: To serve with the dip, I recommend using a sliced baguette or your favorite crackers.

Kitchen tools required

Here’s a bit more information about what I used to make these homemade pizza dip…

  • Large Bowl
  • 9-Inch Round Baking Dish

For measuring, you will need 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/4 cup, and 1/2 teaspoon.

How to make baked pizza dip

Let’s start by preheating the oven to 400°F.

Next, grab a bowl and mix together the softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, spices, Parmesan cheese, and 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese.

Once it’s all combined, spread the mixture into the baking dish, cover it with pizza sauce, and spread it around.

Top it off with the remaining shredded cheese, and add some pepperoni for that extra flavor!

Pop it in the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes or until the cheese is all melted and bubbling.

Once it’s ready, serve it with some baguette, chips, or veggies!

Recipe Tips

Below are some common appetizer dip questions. Don’t see the answer you’re looking for? Leave a comment at the bottom of this post!

Can I customize the pizza toppings?

Of course! You can add other classic pizza toppings like mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers for a more veggie-packed dip. Get creative and make your own personal pizza dip!

For more protein, add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the cheese mixture.

What other cheeses can I use?

Mozzarella is the perfect cheese for this recipe, but you can also use a blend of cheeses like cheddar and Monterey Jack for a different flavor. Or add some crumbled feta on top for extra tanginess!

What other sauces can I use besides pizza sauce?

If you’re not a fan of pizza sauce, try using marinara sauce or even BBQ sauce for a unique twist on this dip. You can also mix in some homemade pesto for added flavor!

Can I make this pizza dip recipe dairy-free?

Yes, you can! Simply substitute the cream cheese and Greek yogurt with dairy-free alternatives, such as cashew cream cheese and coconut yogurt. And, to make it vegan, use vegan pizza sauce and pepperoni.

It will still be just as delicious!

Can I make this dip ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can mix all the ingredients together and top it with sauce and cheese, then cover it tightly with plastic wrap and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.

Just be sure to add an additional 5 minutes or so to the bake time.

Storing leftovers

If you happen to have any leftover pizza dip, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Simply reheat it in the oven or microwave before serving.

I made this recipe yesterday for the playoffs and it was a huge hit! People loved how it tasted plus how it looked like actual pizza! 🙂 I highly recommend it! So easy and delicious! Next time I’m going to add a drizzle of hot honey on top!

I sliced the pepperoni into fourths so that it was easy to get a piece in each bite.
