A healthy and easy watermelon kombucha cocktail made with tequila and jalapeno. Perfect for entertaining or enjoying solo during the summer!
Pretty sure if you’ve been following me for a while now, then you know I LOVE a good cocktail. Especially in the summer. The one thing about cocktails though is that I don’t love to make them myself and prefer if someone else does the cocktail mixing for me.
Until I decided to use some watermelon kombucha that I purchased the other day (the brand is GT’s and they sell the watermelon at most grocery stores and Trader Joe’s!) to make some amazing watermelon kombucha cocktails.
This cocktail is almost more like my easy watermelon margarita because it requires tequila, but you could easily turn it into a vodka drink by replacing the tequila with vodka!
Ingredients in watermelon kombucha cocktail
Watermelon kombucha – but feel free to use any flavor you like. This recipe used GT’s Watermelon Kombucha which can be found at most regular grocery stores and Trader Joe’s! It’s delicious in this drink, but I also think any other flavor of kombucha would be delicious too!
Easy kombucha cocktail
The best part about these watermelon kombucha cocktails is that they are literally SO easy to make that even people who think they can’t make cocktails will be proved wrong. If you can pour and mix, then you can make these cocktails!
How to make a kombucha cocktail
So these cocktails don’t take much brain power to put together, and you can truly add any variety you want to it! Don’t like spicy? Take out the jalapeno! Want to make it a little sweeter? Add in some honey.
First step in making this drink is to salt your rim. Like I shared in this recipe, you’ll want to wet your rim around the edges with a lime and then dip into a plate with salt on it.
Next, you’ll want to muddle your jalapeno. You want to take thin slices of jalapeno and throw about two or three in the bottom of your glass (no ice yet!) Using a muddler or something like a pill crusher, you want to squish down your jalapeno to get the flavor to come out.
Next: Add ice to your glass.
Then pour in your tequila and your kombucha and stir, stir, stir.
Garnish with a lime wedge and extra watermelon if you have it. You’re ready for drinking now!
Making margaritas for a crowd
You can easily triple or 10x this recipe and make it in a large pitcher for a crowd! Even people who claim they typically don’t like kombucha will enjoy this cocktail.

Watermelon Kombucha Cocktail
A healthy and easy watermelon kombucha cocktail made with tequila and jalapeno. Perfect for entertaining or enjoying solo during the summer!
Ingredients
- 4 oz tequila – I like white, Espolon or Casamigos
- 12 oz kombucha – I like watermelon GT’s but any will work.
- 1 cup ice
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 small jalapeno
- Salt for rim
- watermelon chunks
- slices of lime
Instructions
- Salt your rim before doing anything! I like to do this by using a lime wedge and running it around the outside of the cup, then dipping the cup into the salt.
- Thinly slice a jalapeno. Then put 2-3 slices into the bottom of your cups.
- Using a muddler or something like that, press down and grind on the jalapeno to release juices.
- Add in 1/2 cup ice to each cup.
- Pour tequila, kombucha, lime juice and more ice to a cocktail shaker. Mix up!
- Pour half of the shaker into each cup and serve with fresh watermelon chunks and lime slice.
- Enjoy!
