Baked feta is super popular right now, and for good reason! This simple yet flavorful dish only requires four ingredients – feta block, olive oil, hot honey, and chili crunch – making it the perfect addition to any holiday dinner or potluck gathering. Not only does this tasty recipe make a great sharing dish for friends and family but it’s also gluten-free! Serve with vegetables, sliced baguettes, or crackers for a mouthwatering sweet-and-spicy treat everyone will love.

Yummy hot honey baked feta

I’ve really been enjoying creating new dip recipes to share with you all! After making my whipped feta with hot honey, I knew I had to try making baked feta with hot honey next. And let me tell you, this spicy baked feta recipe did not disappoint!

Baked feta is not only delicious, but it’s also incredibly easy to make and ready in only a few minutes. The salty, creamy feta cheese is perfectly balanced by the sweet-and-spicy flavor of the hot honey, while the crunchy chili crunch adds texture and an extra layer of flavor.

Together, these flavors create a heavenly combination that you won’t be able to get enough of.

Ingredients needed

This baked feta recipe is made using 4 simple ingredients. No, really – it’s that easy!

Here’s a bit more about what I used:

  • Feta: The base of this recipe starts with a block of feta. Feta cheese is a salty and tangy cheese that adds the perfect amount of creaminess to your dish. You’ll need 14 oz.
  • Olive Oil: This is used to coat the feta cheese and help it bake up nice and crispy. If you are not a fan of olive oil, you can substitute it with another oil of your choice. I also like to use avocado oil. You’ll need about 2 tablespoons.
  • Hot Honey: This is what makes the dish spicy, sweet, and flavorful! Hot honey adds an amazing flavor to the dish without being too overwhelming. My favorite is Mike’s Hot Honey or the Trader Joe’s version.
  • Chili Crunch: I love adding chili crunch for a little extra flavor and texture. You can find it in the grocery store or online. Trader Joe’s has a deliciously spicy chili crunch that goes great with the feta.

Kitchen tools required

Here’s a bit more information about what I used to make this baked feta recipe.

  • Baking Dish

For measuring, you will need 1 tablespoon and 1/4 cup.

ingredients for hot honey chili feta dip

How to make spicy baked feta

Start out by preheating your oven to 400°F. Grease your baking dish with a bit of olive oil. Place the feta block in the center of your greased dish and coat it evenly with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Next, top it off with chili crunch for an extra layer of flavor!

Bake for 15 minutes or until the feta is melty. Remove it from the oven, drizzle it with hot honey, and broil for another 3 minutes.

Once the feta is done baking, remove it from the oven and let cool a bit before serving. Serve with your favorite vegetables, crackers, or sliced baguettes, and enjoy!

Making this spicy baked feta recipe is so easy and it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser at your next gathering.

Recipe Tips

Below are some common baked feta questions. Don’t see the answer you’re looking for? Leave a comment at the bottom of this post!

hot honey chili feta dip

What type of feta is best for baking?

I prefer to use a block of feta cheese for this recipe as it’s easier to coat with the olive oil and chili crunch. Alternatively, you can also use crumbled feta but keep in mind that it will not be as crispy when cooked.

Can I use a different type of cheese?

Yes, you can use any kind of firm cheese like halloumi or cotija in this recipe. Just keep in mind that the cooking time and texture may be different depending on what kind of cheese you use.

How spicy is this recipe?

This recipe is not overly spicy. The hot honey adds a nice sweetness that balances out the spiciness of the chili crunch. If you want to make it spicier, add more chili crunch or top it off with a bit of crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat.

Can I make this baked feta recipe without hot honey?

Yes, you can definitely make this recipe without hot honey. If you don’t have it on hand, try using a different sweetener like agave syrup or maple syrup.

Is this spicy baked feta gluten-free?

Yes! This recipe is gluten-free and easy to make.

Can I make this dish ahead of time?

Yes, you can make this dish ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. To reheat, pop it in the oven or microwave until heated through.

Storing leftovers

To store this spicy baked feta, place it in a sealed container in the fridge for up to four days. To reheat it, you can either microwave it or bake it in the oven at 350˚F for about 8-10 minutes.

Enjoy!
